Sin condemns us. Yet God condemned sin in us. The gospel is the condemnation of condemnation.
The contemnor is treated with contempt. Rejection is rejected.
The mighty wrath of God is not our enemy; it is our friend. We should thrive on the view of a wrathful, just, violent God. For the gospel properly understood, says that the full weight of God's justice is unleashed against our sin, destroying it. He condemns our condemnation.
A powerful God who metes out justice is to our eternal benefit.
