The non-electronic church

I am a great believer in the privity of relationship. Interpersonal relationships are the basis of the church. Interpersonal relationships should not be substituted out of a church.

A church is as strong as its intimacy and depth of interpersonal relationships. Interpersonal relationships are engendered by sincerity and real-life proximity. Christian relationships are founded on face-to-face time. People want to be known 'in the flesh'.

Electronic intermediaries should never substitute out interpersonal relationship. These electronic agents can enhance relationshihp; but they should never displace it.

God's church is non-electronic. It thrives on relationship 'in the flesh', and wilts in a world of electronic projections only.

I remain convinced that the best conductor of Truth is interpersonal relationship. Truth is an electricity waiting to be conducted. It needs the personal touch to complete the circuit.

 

There is much to be learned by walking with others who are in the Faith. There is much to be gleaned from conversation and community living.

 

Beware the church that is bedevilled by the over-reliance of carefully constructed online personae that operates to the detriment of interpersonal sincerity.
