Nietzsche: "He who has a Why to live for can bear almost any How."
Meaning. A clear sense of meaning. Purpose. A clear sense of purpose. Without meaning, without purpose, a man will shrivel up when the rays of the Sun of Difficulty shine down.
Perhaps meaning and purpose are less macro than I once thought; and more micro than I ever gave them credit for.
Perhaps meaning and purpose is doing today that which God Almighty has asked you to do. Perhaps the slow and steady sowing to daily acts of meaning will result in an overall life of purpose.
Perhaps calling is more a matter of unromantic, basic, menial obedience to the immediate and the here and now; than it is of some noble, grandiose master plan.
Perhaps the master plan of life is precisely that—life itself; living life day by day, blow by blow, moment by moment. Perhaps destiny is contained more in this moment now and less than in the final moment of a life-long succession of moments.
