Perhaps one of the truest and most difficult challenges of faith are those situations where you see a loved one heading for a cliff.
The cliff is danger. Sometimes loved ones willingly head towards the cliff.
The cliff; the loved one - a dramatic scene. You watch, powerless and helpless.
In this moment the universe reduces into one simple, binary formula: Either God is in control of all things; or He is not. More to the point, either you believe that God is in control of all things; or you don't.
Should you attempt to control the loved one en route to the cliff you have cast your vote. You have voted that God is not in control of all things.
In the alternative, you can cede all control to God. This will dash you on the rocks, the cornerstone in particular.
The psalmist says that if you set the Lord before you, you can pitch your tent on hope and rest securely there.
