'And he said to the human race, "The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom".' - Job 28:28
Recently, I have come to see that if the strength of my faith and trust in God are less than the strength of my greatest fear then I do not possess the 'fear of the Lord'.
Certainly the 'fear of the Lord' exists where one's greatest fear is subordinated to God.
The 'fear of the Lord' is an utter reliance on the love of God.
Far from being fear of God the 'fear of the Lord' displaces all our other fear. Perfect love drives out fear.
Ironically, the cure of fear is to fear God.
Where fear of the things of the world sets our agenda we do not have the 'fear of the Lord'.
