All our needs on this earth are really pointers toward God as our ultimate Need.
If it is friendship we need, that points to God who offers us His own friendship.
If it is a spouse's love we need, that points us to Jesus who holds Himself out to be a lover and Spouse of the greatest intimacy.
If it is career success we need, that points to the Father who provides our reputation and pronounces us a success.
And then, once we acknowledge Him as our ultimate Need, He gratuitously provides for our other, lesser needs with acts of grace.
The ultimate Need of men is also the Provider of our other needs. He provides friends, He provides spouses, He provides career success. All this to prove that He is our apex Need and all other needs can be met in Him.
He is enough for us. He is both our greatest Need and yet simultaneously He is our greatest Satisfaction.
Our hearts are restless until they find their rest in You!
