Courage of conviction

There is much to be said for the quiet, but sure courage of a conviction. Convictions should be well thought through, prayed over, distilled from copious amounts of Bible reading, and weighed on the scales of practical application in the life of an ordinary believer.

And then they are to be quietly held, described when called upon, and defended when appropriate.

The truths that God reveals, by virtue of the very fact that they are true, are granted to the believer to be adhered to. Once convinced of them, we are to steadfastly maintain them. The church can only be built upon what we are sure of. And let God congregate those who are similarly convinced around the same truths.
