5 July 2009 III Precise confirmation

Driving home from church that day of days the gentle voice of God speaks firmly. Read the account of the transfiguration. One of the gospel versions has a detail that the other gospels don't have.

Why on this day of days would he speak of arcane things? I know him too well to believe this is tangential. He is without error. He is without disorder. He is in total charge. Listening to the Lord begins and ends with the trust of his overall character. He is loudest when he whispers for so few intercept his whispers.

Luke 9:31. I rushed to the Scripture, expectant. 'They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment[.]' The one detail unique to Luke's account of the transfiguration. A cryptic clue. Even his arcane whispers can swing a man's destiny. How sonorous the whisper that day.
