Perhaps the 28th of February 2013 is the day I will never forget. History will be the narrator of that. God's breakthroughs are like that. Often you sense them, but you can't be sure. And then later, you look back and you see the outcome with the lucidity you had hoped for at the time.
It reminds me of what Winston Churchill wrote in his annals on World War 2. One of the turning points in the war was Montgomery's victory in North Africa in the Western Desert. Montgomery became a living legend as a result. Churchill, sensing what ordinary people felt, judged it right when he said:
"[T]he Battle of Alamein will ever make a glorious page in British military annals. There is another reason why it will survive. It marked in fact the turning of "the Hinge of Fate". It may almost be said 'Before Alamein we never had a victory. After Alamein we never had a defeat.'" - volume IV, The Second World War.
It is God who turns the "Hinge of Fate". He is provident. He is sovereign. He holds all things together. He opens doors as He pleases and shuts doors when He wishes.
It may be that I fought and won Alamein.
