'If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else. For each one should carry their own load' - Gal 6:3-4
Who are you? Are you claiming to be something when you are not? If so, that is deceit. Do you test your own actions to see whether what you are producing adds up with who you claim you are? Have you pitched yourself right? Can you take pride in yourself without reference to anybody else? Or is your pride generated by a comparison of superiority over others?
If you know who you are, who God has made you to be, then you will live in truth. Your life's work will line up with who you are meant to be. This will produce a deep satisfaction that is not dependent upon anyone else. In fact, your fulfillment will not be derived from what other people think. It is at this point that you will be strong. Strength is the ability to carry your own load.
The implication of this Galatian passage is this: If you are not doing what you are meant to be - by God's design - then you will be self-deceiving, unaccountable, conceited and weak, because you will be living someone else's life, doing everything in your power to justify that you are not.
