Our lowest is our highest

There are times when you feel stripped of all you have, when you think that all you have in the world is God. These are normal moments in the Christian life. Do not fight them; triumph them.

When you feel at your lowest you still have the gospel. You still have salvation.

It doesn't get better than salvation.

The gospel gives you everything that belongs to Jesus - which is practically everything. It includes the love of the Father, wholeness, everlasting life in paradise, holiness, resurrection, the fullness of joy, and a host of other things.

When you are at your lowest, with only the gospel to your name, you are actually starting at the highest. Anything over and above the gospel in this present life is simply an advanced blessing of what you already have.

The definition of a Christian is someone who - at his very lowest - begins at the very highest point possible.

Praise be to God for this indescribable gift.
