Faith and feeling

The Christian church is riddled with those who make their decisions based on what they feel rather than what is faith.

 

Often when people share their 'next move', faith is conspicuous by its absence.

 

I want to hear people talk with God in their mouths, God is their hearts, God in their thoughts, God on their lips. I want conversations to be footnoted with God, referenced with God, tagged with God, marked with God, underscored by God, saturated with God.

 

Sometimes you can close your eyes in a conversation and listen closely. And you will rise above the words and hear a refrain: 'What is best for me, what is best for me, what is best for me.'

 

On the other hand, faith insists: 'What gives you pleasure, Lord?'

 

Pleasure is a feeling. Not necessarily your feeling; but a feeling nonetheless.
