Jesus did not come to give you inner peace (although you will receive that); He came to make peace with you.
Christian peace is not internal harmony, it is the cessation of hostilities, the end of the war between God and man.
Jesus did not say, 'Come to me and I will give you inner peace.' He said, 'Come to me and I will give you a peace treaty.'
This is, after all, the man who claimed: 'My peace I give to you, not as the world gives you peace.'
