Would you like to live in a world where God's love was judged by its immediacy?
All too often we ask God to prove His love immediately.
Not only that, but we prescribe the ways He is to demonstrate His love.
Our prescriptions mostly correspond with our dreams and desires, and very seldom do we ask God to prove His love by blessing other people instead.
What I mean, is that if we judge God's love for us by instant fulfillment of our wishes or desires, the world would be a terrible mess. My agenda as to how God's love should immediately manifest is sure to conflict at some stage with your agenda of how His love should immediately appear.
Instead the Bible chooses to state God's love in long terms.
We are to judge His love by its endurance, not by it's immediacy.
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever.
Like a spoilt child who demands an ice-cream instantaneously, we forget that our Parent has stored up for us a Trust Fund worth billions of dollars that will never be exhausted and will last through endless generations after the child.
In 56 million years time when we have only begun to enjoy eternal fellowship with God in the Paradise of His making, we will have long forgotten about the demand for an ice-cream that would only have suspended our suspicion that He is not loving by one measly moment.
