The Scales of Truth

I would rather lead a local church by the strength of my ideas, rather than by the strength of my personality.

Other people's faith needs to depend on Truthful Ideas, not by dint of personality. In people's lives, personalities will come and go. Truthful Ideas never will.

As a pastor, you provide a fundamental disservice to your sheep if you cause them to imitate your personality, rather than causing them to make their decisions based on Truth. People in the church need to be taught what Truth is. Then they need to be given the Scales of Truth. Then, they need to be taught how the Scales of Truth work, by way of living demonstration, by a loving pastor. Then, when it is their time to make Life's decisions, they need to weigh their unique situations on the Scales of Truth.

Christian copyists are a dangerous mob. Mimicked behaviour is a crass form of legalism. It is light on sincerity and generally heavy on superiority over others who have not joined their mob.
Oh for a generation who will base their every decision on what is Right and not on what is popular!
