The world wants you to be peace-keeper. Jesus wants you to be a peace-maker.
Where a line of hostility exists, Jesus wants you to go and cross the line and make peace with your brother. It takes initiative. It takes humility. It takes intention.
Being a peace-maker means you have to reconcile your brother to you. You don't wait for reconciliation to happen; rather, you make reconciliation happen. Someone has to make the first move. It sounds like something Jesus would do.
It sounds like something Jesus has done. No wonder we get called 'a son of God' when we actually get round to doing it.
