Today, we were sent out, commissioned, by the good people of Redemption Hill Church. It was awesome. At the same time three elders were ordained at RHC and some people were baptized. Too wonderful.
Surprize of all surprizes was seeing Thomo walk through the door at the beginning of the meeting. He had flown two continents, one ocean and six time zones to be with us to see us being sent out. What a father.
They smashed a bottle of champagne against the side of the good ship Urban Design. The maiden voyage. Off she sailed from the RHC harbour.
There at the front of the meeting stood Mark, Jono, Ben, Mel, Rob, Dorriene, Josh, Kendra, my fellow colleagues in the new adventure. 'Ready to commit an act of unparalleled Christian piracy?' I thought to myself, as I looked each of them in the eye. Let's ride the Seven Seas and amass a treasure trove stashed full of plunder for the King and the Kingdom. All hands on deck. And make sure the gunpowder doesn't go damp.
This is so exciting! You guys are often in my thoughts and know that Urban Design church is going to be a city on a hill and a beacon of light.
